Huntsville Finance Director paints positive picture of TIF

A key tool used to improve infrastructure and development of industrial sites continues to show positive dividends as City leaders look to the future.

Finance Director Penny Smith said Huntsville tax increment finance districts, or TIFs, have contributed directly to continued growth and public improvements. TIFs allow municipalities to borrow money for projects within a designated district and then repay bonds using property tax proceeds.

Teresa De Sapio Diaz has always been an artist. The commercial arts/advertising design and 3-D computer animation teacher grew up in Hunterdon County and was inspired to pursue a career in art out of college. She opened her own business, TADS – Art & Illustration, which she continues to run even as she enters her 24th year of teaching at Hunterdon County Polytech Career and Technical High School, raises four children, and teaches art at night to adults.

Amazon Studios & Prime Video Chief Marketing Officer Ukonwa

Ukonwa Ojo, who arrived at Amazon Studios and Prime Video close to two years ago as Chief Marketing Officer, is exiting.

In a memo to staff Tuesday about Ojo’s departure, Mike Hopkins, SVP Prime Video & Amazon Studios, wrote that he’s “reaching out to senior marketing team members in the coming days on how we best move forward.”
